Insurance of your Building
By Building we mean: The House including fixtures and fittings,
together with its garages and outbuildings used for domestic
purposes. In addition, patios, terraces, footpaths, drives,
walls, fences, gates, swimming pools and tennis courts are
covered under this policy.
The building is insured against damage by various causes, the
principle ones being: Fire, Storm, Flood and Hurricane. The
Policy also provides insurance against
- Accidental breakage of fixed glass or sanitary ware.
- Accidental damage to cables or underground services
- Architects, Surveyors and Legal Fees incurred following
damage to your House.
Optional Extensions to this policy:
Reasonable additional cost of accommodation following damage to
your House:
- Loss or damage to satellite television systems
- Loss or damage to docks and seawalls
- Accidental damage to Buildings.

- Your policy does not cover you for the cost of wear and
tear. It is a condition of the policy that you keep your
property in good order and take steps to avoid damage.
- You must ensure that your Sums Insured are kept up to
date. If you extend or make improvements to your home, you
will increase its building cost. Remember to increase your
sum insured.
Insurance of your Contents
By Contents we mean: Household items and personal
effects belonging to you or to members of your family who
normally reside with you. The contents are insured against loss
or damage by various causes, the principle ones being Fire,
Smoke, Flood, Hurricane and Theft. The policy also provides
insurance against
- Accidental breakage of mirrors or fixed glass in
furniture
- Accidental damage to television, audio, video and
computer equipment

- This leaflet provides only brief information about Home

- Our policy will repair, replace or pay the cost of
replacement as new except for household linen and clothing
where a deduction is made for wear and tear.
- You must ensure that your Sums Insured are kept up to
date when new items are bought. Remember to always maintain
an adequate sum insured.
Insurance of your Personal Possessions
By Personal Possessions we mean: Valuables and
other items you specifically list in your policy.
Personal Possessions are insured against loss or damage at
anytime anywhere within the Bahamas and outside of the Bahamas
for up to 60 days per year. The maximum amount payable is the
Sum Insured stated in your policy Schedule. Copies of Valuations
or proof of purchase price for all items exceeding $1,000.00
will be required before cover commences. |
